Here are some photographs of the event in Buenos Aires that I'll be photographing for www.ShowChampions.com. Landing Tuesday morning - stoked!

T-A...N-G-O

I only wish I could edit and produce videos like this. It certainly gives me some ideas though.

Cowboy Dave

Me, doing the pensive cowboy look at the Calgary Stampede while on photography duty. Those boots and the hat are for real yo! Kudos to Krystle for the picture.

Welcome to the Family

Today I welcome a new addition to my camera collection. This little rascal is the new Canon SD780 IS with HD 720 video. I'll be taking this down to Buenos Aires to shoot a little footage here and there.

Of course it's in matte black. Gangster.

Sneak Peak

Curve is preparing for a little side-project that is going to launch early next week. I've called it Dave in Argentina (very uninspiring title, but it gets the job done). This will be a little side blog to document my adventures, photographs and videos from the capital of Argentina - Buenos Aires. I'm not visiting simply for pleasure. I actually have a photo assignment at the Palermo Livestock Show. I'm currently lacking a lot of the details, but I'm really looking forwarding to getting some great stills and video, as well as taking our ShowChampions Inc. platform truly international. Plus I get to hang out in Buenos Aires for a few days so you can be sure that I'll be out in full force with my camera.

Although I travel over 100 days a year - mostly to the US, it's been a while since I've been international like this. Last trip being my around the world trip in 2006. It's safe to say that I've caught the travel bug once again and I'm excited about my maiden voyage to South America. Stay tuned as I continue to set up the second site and preview my trip with some inspiring images from Argentina.

TDF - Art Bikes

Pictured above - all of the one-off art bikes (minus the Damien Hirst) for Lance Armstrong's time trial runs during the 2009 Tour de France.

I know the whole fix gear thing has taken off recently, but these are some badass bicycles. Kudos to all the artists and the Livestrong team for getting it done. All of them are nice, but I can't deny the KAWS wheels above. For more info on all the bikes, visit

Nike SB - Raul Rodriguez

A cool Nike SB ad featuring Paul and Ice Cube.

Woolrich Woolen Mills FW09

Trying to catch up on a few of the collections that have caught my eye the past little while. The more I see of Woolrich Woolen Mills, the more I am inspired by the rugged outerwear that they bring to the table. Love the diversity of fabrics here and everything looks so comfortable. Those red and blue jackets are definitely on my radar.

Asos Fall 2009

Wow, great collection from Asos. Everything is on point here. Especially those jackets.

Adidas SLVR Looks

... Ok, so now EVERYONE wants to look fresh!

From the Bookshelf

...on the current trends in menswear:

"We're currently assailed by simple creations and traditional designs harking back to a no-bullshit era of staples done well. A focus on fabrics, cuts and build quality, plus a mix of dandyish looks and everyman classicism has permeated a territory once dominated by big logos and ironic references delivered LOUDLY, and we're not complaining. It's the rise of common sense clothing. The sort of gear that won't have you recoiling when your kids trawl your photo archive in search of mockery targets. Consider it sartorial futureproofing."

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Back in the Saddle Again

This is an exciting time of year as I anxiously hope to see Lance Armstrong capture another Tour de France victory. It's incredible how one man can bring so much attention and publicity to not only cycling, but to the fight of cancer. From the get go, Lance has dedicated his ride in the Tour de France to the LIVESTRONG campaign, to bring awareness and global commitment to cancer reasearch and programs. Major kudos.

Additionally, Lance has brought the art world with a series of artist designed time trial bikes that he will be sporting throughout the Tour. The first was the debut time trial bike designed by Marc Newson. Marc Newson is a revolutionary designer whose work in the fields of aerospace, furniture, product, jewelry, interior, and vehicle design have earned him countless accolades from the design community. He counts companies like Nike, Ford, Dom PĂ©rignon, Cappellini, Qantas, Samsonite and Jaeger Le Coultre among his A-list clientele. For this bike, Newson used subtle flat black paint offset by glossy contrast details including the Stroboscopic rear wheel design that appears to pulsate at it spins. The bike brings a new level of design sophistication to the most legendary cycling event in the world while simultaneously flying the flag of cancer awareness in Livestrong yellow.

Can't wait to see what Damien Hirst has up his sleeve for Lance's final time trial bike in the 2009 tour. Apparently it's pretty incredible, from what Lance has been twittering lately.

Ransom Footwear and Clothing

Here's a sneak peak of Ransom's new footwear line in collaboration with Adidas Originals. The detailing looks on point and all the colorways are worthy of attention. Great to see GoodFoot owner and Canadian Matt George pushing the sportswear and footwear scene. Definitely looking forward to the release of these.

I'm eyeing the tan suede summit hiking boot or the black leather model as my picks of the bunch. Click here to read an in depth interview with Matt George and Ben Pruess of Adidas Originals about the line.

Also, Ransom just released a couple of nice short sleeve chambray shirts on their online store, Ransom Holding Co.

Junya Watanabe/Comme Des Garcons Jackets

Great jackets from Junya Watanabe. Really feelin' the tan & leather one.

Nike Cycling Windrunner

Nike gives their iconic windrunner an upgrade with taped zips, a foldaway hood and a new lightweight waterproof material. Perfect for cycling, travel or those cool summer days we've been having in Calgary lately.

Wings & Horns

Vancouver's Wings & Horns looking good for Fall/Winter 09.

Super Sunglasses S/S 2010

Super, once again killing it with a mighty fine range of sun spectacles for Spring/Summer 2010. Hand made in Italy, Carl Zeiss lenses and fresh to death - you can't go wrong! I have a pair and they're awesome.
